In one of her entries, referring to a group of spectators at a rugby match in HK, this British expat blogger wrote: "What do the Chinese think of us? Yes, we're all fat, pie-eating, drunken bastards. Aren't we?" That answer is quite extraordinary to Sham-Shui-Po Boy; it's rare to find an expat who has even the slightest concern for what the natives really think of them, and so far, this critic has read hundreds of expat blogs to date. This blogger, Lottie is in the legal profession and has a passion for fashion -- she comments regularly on the Hong Kong fashion scene. And she travels extensively for work and sometimes for pleasure. Her descriptions and impressions of the places and holiday destinations she visited are vivid, thoughtful and provocative; at the same time, they are informative and interesting to read. She has eyes for the "unseens" that can be easily missed by a casual observer. Her prose is light, lively, expressive, and naturally British. In her blog, FRAGMENTS, for the most part, she writes about the noteworthy bits of an expat life in Hong Kong from her personal perspective with keen female sensitivities. Sometimes, she tends to paint the picture in broad strokes, but she's unambiguous for what she intends to say. And she can say a lot in just a few words. Lottie called herself, "shallow" in a few of her entries. But Sham-Shui-Po Boy says, Lottie and her taste of fashion are more sophisticated than she made herself out to be. He highly recommends this blog. Review by Sham-Shui-Po Boy of hong-kong-blogs-review.com
